If you are sat at the front with the pilot or on the left hand side of the helicopter then it is a great experience - the front is brilliant. But if you are sat on the right hand side behind the pilot then it's rubbish. Most of the tourist attractions are on the left hand side of the helicopter, so if you are on the right you can't see properly because other people are blocking the window!

Unfortunately my wife celebrating her birthday and I both got seated on the right-hand side of the helicopter behind the pilot. This meant that we did not get a good view at all of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan skyline etc. and could not attempt to take any photos through someone else's head. We did get a good view of Columbia University and the apartments of New Jersey - not interesting at all. Spoilt it entirely and not worth the money. Sit on the left if you have the choice!

Both me and my wife loved it, and was prepared to go straight back on the flight and do it all over again.
