In Kona our visitors have the rare treat to experience a Manta Night Snorkel. The occurrence of an accumulation of plankton off of the shoreline makes for an incredible Night Manta Snorkel show that you get to be a part of. Like all of our tours we treat the Manta Night Snorkel with respect by not disturbing these gentle giants in their habitat. We abide by the established Manta Ray Tour Operators Guidelines. It is a privilege for us to take you on this trip and we do not take it for granted. The experience of seeing these massive gentle creatures in the wild is exhilarating. The Manta Night Snorkel is an adventure you have to see for yourself and is a once of a lifetime experience. Mahalo

Gabe was great. While waiting for the sun to set he gave us good advice about things like where to eat in the Kona area.
The boat is brand new.
We saw tons of mantas. What a show. With wild animals there are no guarantees but they showed up in numbers for our tour.
I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys snorkelling.

My husband and I wanted to do something fun before leaving Hawaii and he suggested we swim with manta rays. I was told swimming with these gentle giants would be a cool experience but it was so much more amazing than I could have imagined. Tried to book a company through our hotel but they were full... one of the agencies recommended we call Bill directly. So glad we did because this boat was fast and Bill and Gabe were so kind and professional. Gabe said the manta rays would be inches from our faces and he wasn't kidding. Even though I got sea sick, Gabe helped me and I was still able to fully enjoy the mantas. Getting back to harbor so quickly was another plus. A once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend going with Manta Adventures!

We met at the boat - very new and well-equipped - were given a safety briefing and soon took off towards the site for the manta ray watching. A fast trip of about 30 minutes brought us to a spot just off the Kona airport runway. We were one of the first boats there so our skipper could select a good spot.
We were briefed again about what to do and not do when in close proximity to the manta rays. The crew has strict rules which displays a real concern for the manta rays. After sunset we donned our wet-suits and took to the water where we were allocated a space on a pontoon attached to the back of the boat. After a while the manta rays started to arrive - I had an experience of one manta - at least 8 feet across - swimming right beneath me - I could have touched it, but we had been asked not to. Another ray came up and performed a loop-the-loop right in front of us. They are graceful and calm creatures. There were two crew members in the water with us all the time so I felt quite safe.
We had a warm shower as we got out of the water and were fed home-made choc chip and macadamia nut cookies on the way back.
It was a safe and fun experience, well run by an experienced and friendly crew. Compared to other boats we saw on site, this was a much superior and less crowded adventure.
