Ensure a manta ray sighting on this 2.5-hour night tour. Head out in Kona, one of the best places in the world to see mantas, to see the sunset over the water before jumping in to enjoy swimming with manta rays in their underwater nighttime realm. "Manta safari" guides escort you around the site with a mobile light show that attracts these gentle and fascinating creatures. Jan 1- March 31 departure time is 5:30PM and 8:30pm April 1- September 31 departure time is 6PM and 9pm, October 1- December 31 departure time is 5PM and 8pm. You will be placed where there is availability. Please call 24 hours prior to confirm departure time.

This was a really fun experience, we enjoyed ourselves and saw several mantas up close, many of them even brushed up against us, it was so cool. We did the 5pm for the bonus “sunset cruise” experience. They gave you wet suit tops to wear in the chilly water. Go to Costco in Kona they have a discount on this experience. The crew was awesome as well, I highly recommend this experience if you are able to withstand cooler water/temps for 30-45 mins and can hold on to surf board straps arms extended for the same 30-45 mins. When we went the water was ROUGH so bumpy boat ride and laying prone in chilly water hanging onto a surf board in rough water for 45 mins. A few folks became ill due to the rough waters and had to end their experience early. It was 100% worth the experience, just be prepared, and ensure you are up for the experience.

Saw several manta rays. A few came right up to the light board to feed which was really cool. And the staff were helpful.

No mantas. Had to tow a fishing boat back in which took forever. Was told we’d get a free future trip if we called the office but instead was subjected to an extremely rude person on phone
