The Manta Ray Night Snorkel was AMAZING! I originally scheduled the snorkel for Oct 9, but needed to change it about a week beforehand. The woman I talked to on the phone was super friendly and helpful, and easily changed my reservation from Oct. 9 to Oct. 10 which I greatly appreciated!
Checking in on Oct. 10 was really easy and quick. They provided us the snorkel gear and a wetsuit top (which is needed as it can get a little chilly while in the water.) There were 3 crew members and the captain, with about 20ish people.
We left right on time and got to the spot after a 30-40 minutes boat ride. The boat ride out to the spot was smooth and very relaxing. There were light snacks and drinks (water and juice) provided which was greatly appreciated.
There were some directions provided by the crew which my husband and I only caught the tail end of, but if you use common sense you'll be fine. I would recommend being first in the water to maximize time and that way you'll be last out of the water too. We were last in and first out because of how they have people get in and out of the water.
In the water, you hang on to a floatation device with your hands and have a pool noodle under your legs to keep you floating.
Seeing the manta rays was surreal!! They are so big and get so close to you!! It was amazing and I definitely recommend doing this!! At one point, we saw 5 manta rays below us just flipping and swimming around so elegantly - IT WAS AMAZING!
The 3 crew members in the water with us were great at providing information about the manta rays and helping people with any issues (like if a noodle got lost).
