What To Expect

Island Queen Ferry

Once in Falmouth, you'll be dropped off at the Island Queen Dock where you'll board the passenger ferry. Your ferry ticket is included so you won't have to wait in line at the dock. Relax on a short 35-minute mini-cruise as you sail across the sparkling waters off the coast of Massachusetts.

Oak Bluffs Town Beach

You will arrive at the island of Martha's Vineyard around 9:30am. You will then have approximately six hours to explore Martha's Vineyard on your own. Your bus driver will be happy to provide you with more information and maps of the area should you wish to book additional activities.

Gay Head Light (Aquinnah Light)

Upgrade to a 3-hour narrated island tour to get an initial overview of the island. On the tour you will have a 15-20-minute stop at the Gay Head cliffs in scenic Aquinnah, where the first lighthouse was built.

Next, you'll pass through the beautiful historic village of Edgartown. Along the way, enjoy the commentary from your professional tour guides as they share their knowledge of the island's history and present-day events. You will then have approximately 2.5 hours to explore Martha’s Vineyard on your own.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

Upon completion of your day on the Island, you will board the ferry which departs at 3:45pm for a relaxing sail back to Falmouth, where the shuttle will be waiting to complete the final leg of your unforgettable day trip experience. A light snack and water will be provided on your trip back to Boston.

The Steamship Authority

Please note: For departures from April 2-May 26 and October 11-October 30, ferry service will be provided by The Steamship Authority. For departure from May 27-October 10, ferry service will be provided by Island Queen Ferry. Ferry schedules and locations may vary slightly. Times will be advised during reconfirmation.

Loved the trip! Kevin was amazing at pointing out historical points along the way to Cape Cod. He also provided water and breakfast bars in the morning plus a quick bathroom stop halfway. Kevin made the trip smooth and had a great sense of humor. We also purchased the extra 3 hour tour with Tom. Tom was non-stop full of facts regarding famous people who live on the island, important history moments and showing those places, as well as sharing his personal experiences growing up on the island. From being an extra in Jaws to bar-b-quing with Clinton. He was very chill, humble and nice.

This tour was amazing! It’s appropriate for all ages! My family really enjoyed it! It was a arcade on Martha’s Vineyard that my teenage son enjoyed; which gave me time to shop.

Enjoyed seeing different towns and some history from drivers . Busses too tight seats uncomfortable No Leg Room on ride from Boston to Cape and Back..

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our buses that do the transportation from Boston to the ferry are all late model mini-coach buses (only a year or two old). They are all a standard size. We take thousands of passengers a year on our trips. Our passengers come in all different shapes and sizes, so just by the law of averages some guests aren't going to have as much legroom as others. I am sorry if you were one of the one's that felt cramped, but there's not much I can do about it besides apologize. Thus I'm sorry that you did not have enough legroom. Sincerely, Stephen M.
