Too early and too long to spend in the island with not much to do and see. This tour is over-priced, I think.

Thank you for the 4 star review. It is a long day, as there is a lot of travel involved to get to Martha's Vineyard from Boston. I disagree with your notion that the trip is overpriced as you are paying a little over $100 for a roundtrip 75 mile bus ride (each way) and a roundtrip ferry ride. Not to mention narration, complimentary snacks bottled water, island guidebook and hotel pickup. Do you realize an Uber or taxi one way would be considerably more than that roundtrip cost? I am glad that you enjoyed the day enough to give us 4 stars. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.

We had an outstanding experience. We were picked up at the Marriott Wharf One by an absolutely superb driver (Joe?). He kept us entertained the entire time thru amazing stories of points of interest along the way. Upon arrival, we boarded a bus for the island tour. Joe, the driver, was outstanding. Wonderful commentary for the entire trip around the island. Points of interest were covered in detail and the information was via a personal perspective. Ate lunch at Cafe' de Villa, a place in full chaos because most eateries and shops on the island had shut down for the weather season. Returned to docking, awaited our return ferry. Returned to the bus for ride home and experience another outstanding driver who spoke only when necessary as most of the passengers where napping due to exhaustion. It was a long day, but worth more than what we paid.

There were good and bad on this trip. The bus ride from Boston was good. Loved the ferry trip. There is nothing better than a morning ride in the sun on a ferry boat. Absolutely wonderful! The optional tour was the problem. When you get up at 5:00 a.m. in the morning to make the tour on time, there isn't anything open for breakfast. Yes, you can eat on the Ferry, but it isn't the same as a nice, sit down breakfast. We found a great Turkish place with an amazing breakfast with Turkish coffee. This didn't leave much time to walk around and photograph. We didn't realize how much time it would take to get back to the bus. We were 5 minutes late and we were left there. Yes, I know it was my fault. But 5 minutes? All the other tours we took from Boston were nice about it as we were waiting up to 15 minutes for stragglers. If we had been told to be prompt or given some warning, we would have been prompt. So we missed the optional bus tour around the Island and were refunded 1/2 of $80 price for both of us. Was this a blessing in disguise? I don't know. We did get a chance to do a lot of walking and exploring on our own. That was nice. But being left after 5 minutes really spoiled the whole tour for me.

Thank you for taking the time to review your trip. I do apologize for you being left behind and did give you a courtesy refund of 50% even though you were late for the bus departure. For you to state that you were not told of the possibility of being left behind if late is certainly not accurate. Our island bus tour was sold out that particular morning so 42 of the 44 passengers were on time and well aware of the departure time. Not only were you told by Tom your island tour guide that he was leaving at 1100 (not 1105) , you were also told by Kevin (your driver to the ferry) that our tour is on a schedule and doesn't wait for guests that are not on time. Tom's usual timing is arrival in Edgartown by 10 am, you are given 50 minutes and told to be back by 1050 and that he is leaving at 1100 regardless of if you are back or not. I believe that 10 minute cushion is more than fair as this is a shared tour and every minute a guest is late cuts into other guests free time at the end of the day. To me that isn't being courteous and fair to the guests that are on time. I am sorry if your tour was spoiled but we certainly didn't want to spoil it for the 42 that were on the bus awaiting your return. Sincerely, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
