What To Expect

Island Queen Ferry

Once in Falmouth, you'll be dropped off at the Island Queen Dock where you'll board the passenger ferry. Your ferry ticket is included so you won't have to wait in line at the dock. Relax on a short 35-minute mini-cruise as you sail across the sparkling waters off the coast of Massachusetts.

Oak Bluffs Town Beach

You will arrive at the island of Martha's Vineyard around 9:30am. You will then have approximately six hours to explore Martha's Vineyard on your own. Your bus driver will be happy to provide you with more information and maps of the area should you wish to book additional activities.

Gay Head Light (Aquinnah Light)

Upgrade to a 3-hour narrated island tour to get an initial overview of the island. On the tour you will have a 15-20-minute stop at the Gay Head cliffs in scenic Aquinnah, where the first lighthouse was built.

Next, you'll pass through the beautiful historic village of Edgartown. Along the way, enjoy the commentary from your professional tour guides as they share their knowledge of the island's history and present-day events. You will then have approximately 2.5 hours to explore Martha’s Vineyard on your own.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

Upon completion of your day on the Island, you will board the ferry which departs at 3:45pm for a relaxing sail back to Falmouth, where the shuttle will be waiting to complete the final leg of your unforgettable day trip experience. A light snack and water will be provided on your trip back to Boston.

The Steamship Authority

Please note: For departures from April 2-May 26 and October 11-October 30, ferry service will be provided by The Steamship Authority. For departure from May 27-October 10, ferry service will be provided by Island Queen Ferry. Ferry schedules and locations may vary slightly. Times will be advised during reconfirmation.

Although the island is beautiful, unfortunately it wasn't fully up and running, we went first week in May and all cafes, shops, barracks and other things to see had signs on saying closed. I believe more towards end of May. Then I reckon it would be fantastic

Not much else Punctual friendly pick up and transfer to ferry Was a rainy day and it was not made clear by the hotel that nothing besides the transport and ferry was included It was expensive and in order to get around the island in the rain and out of season you are basically forced to pay another steep usd40 pp for an island tour Corinne was lovely. Friendly, amusing and a great driver

Thank you for the review. Not much we can do about the rain. The tour is a great option though you certainly are not forced to take it in any way. Plenty of our guests choose not to take the tour and are able to enjoy themselves and have a great day. Our trip is certainly not expensive as any type of ground transportation such as a taxi or car service from your hotel in Boston to the ferry could cost between 150 to 200 one way not including the ferry tickets. Our trip is $105 including roundtrip mini-coach and round trip ferry Kristin is a great guide and we are lucky to have her. Sincerely, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.

This is an amazing trip, not just to see Martha's Vineyard, but also to see some of the surrounding area on our way down to the ferry. The island itself is so beautiful and our guide on the trip, Tom was so good and really made the 3 hours zoom buy. He was very informative with lots of info to share and some stories of his time on the island, loved it! If you want to see this island book with Steve and New England Tours Inc, they are superb!
