Overview

All riders must be 36 inches or taller to participate/ride submarine.

Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Maui’s marine treasures off beautiful Lahaina with Atlantis Submarines Maui. A special added bonus of this tour experience is seeing the spectacular West Maui Mountains while riding our shuttle boat to the Maui dive site.

Stingray, yellow tang, eel, parrotfish, bluefin trevally, and an array of other marine species are seen regularly at the dive site. See firsthand how the Carthaginian, a sunken 19th century whaling brig, has combined with Mother Nature to create a fascinating artificial reef to attract and support marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Passengers must be capable of ascending and descending a near vertical ladder on their own to board the submarine
Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes
Children must be 36 inches or taller to ride the submarine
Infants are not permitted on the submarine.

We had Captain Rich and Doug as second mate/tour guide. Doug was quite informative and funny. Even the safety demo was lighthearted and kept our interest. You will likely not see any large fish, but what we saw was amazing. We were lucky enough to see a few rays and a reef shark as well as a multitude of smaller fish. My in-laws were with us and we were concerned they wouldn’t be able to navigate the ladder into the sub. (My mother-in-law had recently had shoulder surgery) It turns out the ladder has a slight angle that eased the transition. A little girl was sea sick on our return trip on the shuttle boat. The captain was kind and considerate. He helped the parents and assured the little girl that all would be alright. I simply can’t say enough good things about this tour.

Best part was sitting down on ocean floor! AND all the beautiful tropical fish! Captain did his best to make sure everyone had the best view possible. We saw sharks and Rays!

An important element was to view sea animals in there natural habitat. Being under the ocean proposes more questions concerning the creatures themselves. Questions like light, pressure, depth, and the species ability to feed. The experience is recommended. The hospitality and safety were outstanding.
