This audio tour was the best I have ever had. It was wonderful to have someone tell you where you need to stop or which way to go instead of trying to figure it out yourself. Shaka guide is great ! And the app is so easy to set up and use. I was driving 5 of us in my SUV. The guide who was talking was very informative and funny. Directions to points of interest, restaurants, and bathroom breaks were accurate. And he had funny comments and sayings inbetween which made us laugh and enjoy the trip even more. Also at times, hawaiian music played which was great. I would recommend this "loop" tour vs the "classic" tour since it takes you completely around the island and has the most stops. It does take longer, but if you have the time, it is well worth it.

The narration was great and very informative about the history and places we could see along the way. The only problem was that many of the stops either charge admission or parking which was either not mentioned or not until we were stuck in a line of cars. One site, the lava tubes, the narrator just said “turn left” and didn’t say what was there until we were a mile down a dirt road and then never said that in order to see it required a long hike down a steep uneven path and at least a 40 minute stop. I have trouble walking so if we knew in advance we could have avoided that time consuming detour. I would have liked to have more stops recommended that were not just the popular tourist traps.

When we got to Maui we were expecting to just drive on our own but found the Shaka Maui app and were delighted with it. We were able to plan our road trip according to what we wanted to see and loved the commentary and stories provided by the app. We did use the Shaka Kauai app to explore the island of Kauai also.
