We know its a bt touristy, but we wanted to have a super fun evening on our first night in Maui so we booked the Maui Nui Luau at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. Booking was easy but make sure you book well in advance as it sold out very quickly. Its not cheap, $180/person, but its a fun-filled 3 hours of music, dancing, fire twirling, decent food and strong drinks. When you arrive, your be treated to beautiful Hawaiian nut necklaces, and seated at a table with just your group for health and safety. There were two open bars and we found the drinks to be tasty and strong. After a few songs by the house band the festivities began. The entertainment includes live music, singing, beautiful dancers, entertaining music, a brief history of Hawaii and very cool fire twirling. The salad was good and the food was excellent. I sampled the fish, chicken, pork and veggies. Desert was an assortment of tasty sweets.

This luau was just OK. The start time is questionable! They tell you to be there at 4:30/5:00 but don't start until 6 (it's over at about 8). You're waiting outside directly in the sun until it starts. The drinks are watered down and the food is OK (they are served buffets style and is stuck on the fire until its served to you...pretty dry when it hits your plate). The photos are $30 a piece but $40 if you want it DIGITALLY printed. There are better luau's on the Island. For the cost we paid here, this one wouldn't be my second or third option.

My husband and I went to the luau, had good time. I don't think it is worth the money. Food is average, they serve you first course with different salads and fruit, second course you are sent by tables to buffet where they put items on your plate, then third course is once again serve to you with several desserts. Noting was really outstanding and meats were tasteless and dry. The dancing is good. We probably would not do another luau if we went again, to many other things that are better for the money.
