Hana Highway - Road to Hana

Longest coastal scenic road in the world. with over 52 miles of ocean, valleys, 640 curves and turns, 59 single lane bridge makes this trip an adventure.

Ho'okipa Beach Park

Known as windsurfing capital of the world. Just seeing the windsurfers flying through the ocean is a treat even from the moving Ford Transit High Top Roofed Tour Bus.

Bamboo Forest

Bamboo forest alongside the Hana Highway.

Upper Waikani Falls

Unlike other waterfalls it begins from the top and flows under the bridge to form upper and lower waterfalls along the highway.

Ke‘anae Point

A Historical Hawaiian Village in Ka'enae peninsula. Enjoy the best Banana Bread of your life! Auntie Sandy’s is also where Gordon Ramsey filmed the show Uncharted and he even was awestruck on how awesome the bread is!

Wailua Valley State Wayside Park

A lookout alongside Hana Highway which overlooks Wailua Valley on one side and the ocean on the otherside.

Pua'a Ka'a State Park

With it's two waterfalls, it is perfect location for you to go swim in the waterfalls. Heading toward Hana, Puakaa presents two falls located right off the road with a paved path leading up to both. The park is wooded, with several covered picnic areas and lots of wild birds and mongooses. It is the perfect place to take a break from driving and enjoy the beauty of the jungle and a refreshing dip in the waterfall pool if the cold water doesn't deter you.

Wai'anapanapa State Park

Home to the blacksand beach and caves. Perfect place for a rest and lunch.

Wailua Falls

Wailua Falls gracefully cascades 80 feet through a lush setting in the surrounding vegetation just feet from the road. There is a short path to the base of the falls, but it can be tricky so use caution. The water flow varies but is usually pretty at any rate throughout the year.

Kaupo

See the unreal landscapes of Maui’s backside in Kaupo. Stop for a photo in landscapes that take your breath away!

Laulima Farm

Laulima Farm is a 13-acre organic family farm in the Kipahulu Valley. With many exotic and tropical fruits on the property you may sample at their tropical fruit stand! Organic coffee is grown here and definitely worth enjoying! Laulima is continually evolving to include more sustainable and ecologically sound practices on the land.

Ohe'o Gulch

Also, known as the Seven Pools of Oheo, picture taking as we pas over it from the bridge.

If you want to ride the Road, this is the way to do it. Kristy is an amazing tour guide and a brilliant driver - which is important because this road is crazy! Definitely one for a local who knows it. Kristy takes you the whole way around the road whereas most stop halfway. I’m so pleased we did because there are so many other things to see. I was also rapt as most other tours start so early and we couldn’t do them as we were limited by the disembarkation time of our cruise ship. Thanks Kristy, loved your history and trivia knowledge, you made the trip amazing.

A road trip to remember with wonderful Heavenly as driver. What a friendly, happy lady who gave us so much information about the lovely island of Maui. We were delighted to have someone other than us to negotiate the 600+ hairpin bends!
