This was a fun excursion and the crew was really great - hence the 5 star review. Honestly, however, the snorkeling itself was just OK - we had better snorkeling in front of our hotel (on Kaanapali Beach) - and "Turtle Town" was a bust (not their fault - the wind kicked up). If you are going to take a cruise to Molokini, I'd highly recommend these guys.

My husband and I went on the Molokini Crater and Turtle Town Snorkeling Tour in April 2019 and had a blast. We were originally skeptical since this tour was cheaper than others, but it was perfect! The weather was nice the day we went and the boat was very smooth on the water. We decided to SNUBA at the Crater which was amazing. If you want the experience of scuba diving without being scuba certified, snubaing is a great way to get below the surface and see how you like it! The snorkel gear that they gave us was clean and high quality, and the masks did not fog with their anti-fog spray. The food on the boat was decent and their drinks were good. We also liked that they provided reef safe sunscreen for everyone. The only negative thing was that the boat was quite crowded, but overall the experience was amazing!

Mahalo for this 5-star review, the kind words about the cleanliness of our equipment, and your overall experience! And, thank you for using the reef safe sunscreen! That is very exciting you were able to SNUBA at Molokini. We always recommend it, and our highly trained instructors make it so easy to get right in! We hope the rest of your time on Maui was everything you wished it to be, and you’ll choose Pride of Maui again next time you visit. Mahalo! -Lawrence S PR COORDINATOR

My husband and I did this tour on our honeymoon. This was way overpriced for the experience we got. The day we went we were unable to go to the Molokini crater AND Turtle town due to high winds. The whole reason we booked the tour was so we could see those. It was definitely disappointing we didn’t get to go. I wish they would have given us an option of cancelling for a refund or rescheduling for a different day. We would have taken one of those offers if it was offered to us. We were taken to two different locations which quite frankly sucked. I saw a handful of fish at each and that is it. We paid extra to do snuba at the first location. Snuba was pretty cool and I would 100% recommend trying this. But again we didn’t see very many fish in the alternative location they picked, so it wasn't worth the extra money. At the second location we had to go back to the boat early because the winds picked up. This wasn’t the crews fault, but to be completely honest we were disappointed the tour wasn’t cancelled from the beginning since the weather clearly wasn’t good for snorkeling. We booked the trip ahead of time which cost $336.78 for both of us and included snuba at the first location. We didn’t get to go to the two locations we booked the tour for and we didn’t get to snorkel the full time. If you want to rent a scuba wetsuit shirt it costs an extra $10 per person cash only on the boat. In addition they pressured guests on multiple occasions into giving tips after we had already paid about $350. Josh was our snuba guide and he was great. But we found it super awkward when he talked to the people who did snuba individually and asked us to give him tips. Our snorkel and snuba experience was sub par. It was overpriced for what we got and honestly we wish we wouldn’t have booked the trip. If we would have gotten a choice to reschedule or been partially reimbursed since we didn’t go to the places advertised it would have been fine, but this never happened. We snorkeled at Black Rock on Kaanapali Beach and saw sea turtles and way more fish than on this tour. Snorkeling at Black Rock and other beaches is FREE when you bring your own snorkel equipment. I would recommend doing this over a tour unless you are guaranteed to go to the crater. This was our experience on a crappy day for the tour. I realize not everyone that books the trip has a bad experience. We booked this tour to see the crater and turtle town, since the only way to get to the crater is by boat, so this was a waste of money for us.
