Watching a sunset from above the clouds at 14,000 feet was simply amazing. We were staying in Kona, however all the tours were sold out, so we made the 1.5 hr car ride to Hilo for this tour and it was well worth it. Our guide was very accommodating, very knowledgeable and very friendly.

The sunset tour to the top of Mauna Kea was phenomenal, it was like being on top of the world watching a beautiful sunset. I had pondered doing this on my own but so glad I didn't, the guide was knowledgeable and was able to give me tremendous background information on the volcano, the telescopes and the importance of Mauna Key to the Hawaiian people. Truly a magical experience and loved it! When I return back to Hawaii, I would do this tour again!
