Overview

Get the complete Memphis experience on this all-inclusive city tour. It’s a part history tour, part attraction hopping, part food tour that will introduce you to everything that makes Memphis special. You’ll visit World Famous Beale Street (the Home of the Blues); the Lorraine Motel, to see the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; the Rock 'n' Soul Museum or Edge Motor Museum (if option selected); Lansky Brothers Clothing Store, clothier to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King (and still one of the most stylish places to shop!); and get a barbecue tasting at one of the best barbecue joints in the city!

Along the way, we'll show you our favorite Memphis sights, including the Mississippi River, Victorian Village, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, old Cotton Row, and Court Square, the lovely and historic heart of 19th century Memphis.

Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

I chose this tour because it was 3 hours and I thought it would be Memphis in depth. It wasn't. We learned and saw some interesting things but there was 1/2 hour for lunch, at which you got no choice, and then we were dropped off at the Rock 'n Soul Museum at hour 2 to do on our own. We were happy to do it on our own but that was 'part of the tour'. I would have chosen something else had I known.

Tour guide and driver were both excellent. I did not like being left at the Rock 'n Soul Museum and making my own way back to where I could get a cab, which was difficult to do at best.. It was a Sunday and only one trolley ran, intermittently. BBQ lunch was excellent. Check in point should be more clearly stated: Gift shop of B B King's.

Excellent tour! Wish we could have stayed longer and toured the National Civil Rights Museum, however, just visiting the Lorraine hotel was very surreal, gave me goose bumps! Larry is an awesome tour guide and a really cool guy. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
