Overview

Get the complete Memphis experience on this all-inclusive city tour. It’s a part history tour, part attraction hopping, part food tour that will introduce you to everything that makes Memphis special. You’ll visit World Famous Beale Street (the Home of the Blues); the Lorraine Motel, to see the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; the Rock 'n' Soul Museum or Edge Motor Museum (if option selected); Lansky Brothers Clothing Store, clothier to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King (and still one of the most stylish places to shop!); and get a barbecue tasting at one of the best barbecue joints in the city!

Along the way, we'll show you our favorite Memphis sights, including the Mississippi River, Victorian Village, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, old Cotton Row, and Court Square, the lovely and historic heart of 19th century Memphis.

Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

The back stories about songs we all know made a lasting impact as did the live performance. I highly recommend this tour especially if you only have one day to see the town.

Larry from Backbeat took us on a great Memphis discovery tour yesterday. It was a great intro to the city as overseas visitors and his commentary and jokes were great! Made for a fun tour and loved the retro bus!

This was a great tour led by our tour guide, Larry, that took us all around Memphis pointing out many of the landmarks and historical places. It included lunch at Central BBQ (a delicious meal) and our entry into the Rock and Soul Museum which was also a wonderfully informative and entertaining part of the tour. And, if you take this tour and/or go to the Rock and Soul Museum, there’s a free shuttle from there to the Sun Recording Studios. And, don’t forget to tip your driver/tour guide because they do a fantastic job! Thanks Larry!
