Memphis Discovery Tour

Overview
Get the complete Memphis experience on this all-inclusive city tour. It’s a part history tour, part attraction hopping, part food tour that will introduce you to everything that makes Memphis special. You’ll visit World Famous Beale Street (the Home of the Blues); the Lorraine Motel, to see the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; the Rock 'n' Soul Museum or Edge Motor Museum (if option selected); Lansky Brothers Clothing Store, clothier to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King (and still one of the most stylish places to shop!); and get a barbecue tasting at one of the best barbecue joints in the city!

Along the way, we'll show you our favorite Memphis sights, including the Mississippi River, Victorian Village, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, old Cotton Row, and Court Square, the lovely and historic heart of 19th century Memphis.

We took this tour because we had a day before we had to get on our river cruise boat. It was a way to see part of Memphis. Larry was our bus driver and he was very informative. The BBQ lunch was good. At the last stop - The Rock 'n' Soul Museum was very interesting. You have headphones to listen to all the history. I think, if you looked at every exhibit and read all the information about each, it would take you more than two hours to go through.

Following the cancellation of an Uber, we arrived late, but as we had pre-booked the bus waited for us. The bus was straight out of 1960s Memphis, but our guide Kathy was very knowledgeable and informative which led to a very enjoyable trip around Memphis. It includes the Peabody ducks, which is a lot of anticipation followed by 30 seconds of ducks scrambling to the fountain. A must see!. The Lorraine Motel is a very sobering stop off, with the track of the deadly bullet highlighted on the ground. Highly recommended tour.
