Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Although we are the original whale-watching company in Juneau (operating since 1994), we are still small and family-owned and operated! We want you to feel like part of the family, and we pride ourselves on prioritizing local hires in order to give back to our community and give you the best possible tour experience. We want our guides to love Juneau as much as you do!

Our fleet consists of only mammal-friendly jet boats, and the small size and intimate setting will make you feel right at home with the whales.

We pride ourselves on our quick transfers between vehicles! We don't want you to wait any longer than you absolutely have to!

Connor was an awesome van driver and tour guide. Carol and the boat navigator were so informative, pleasant and kind. We saw many whales as well as sea lions.. will share our experience with others who will be coming this way next year.

Whale songs detected with underwater microphone, and close dramatic whale visualizations were wonderful!

Trip to the port, Doug (driver) was informative and friendly. We rode the purple people eater boat (fun). Saw a killer whale (rare) but couldn't get too close. The humpback whales were fun as well including the stop at a buoy where the sea lions were hanging out. Our boat captain Max was nice, but a bit serious and Ricardo was quite entertaining with lots of info. Binoculars we bought really didn't help because they popped up and down so fast, it was hard to see them. It is better to see them up close at SeaWorld, but I hate them being captive like that. I wish we could have gotten closer to the glacier, but it was nice to look at. The gift shop/visitors center was small, but interesting. It has an elevator for those who have trouble walking. We did get to see a few Eagles perched on streetlights and a black bear on the side of the road. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting an adventure off their cruise. We booked separate from the cruise and worked fine.
