What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

OPTIONAL. You will have a total of 2 hours at the Glacier to explore on your own. Entry fees to the Visitor’s Center are included in the price of your ticket where you can enjoy interactive exhibits and educational presentations that offer a deeper understanding of the glacier’s geological significance and the surrounding ecosystem.

Mendenhall Glacier

OPTIONAL. You will have a total of 2 hours at the Glacier to explore on your own. Here you can choose to wander trails, photograph the glacier from the distance, or explore the Visitor’s Center. With various walking trails available, visitors of all fitness levels can enjoy spectacular views of the glacier, Mendenhall Lake, and the untouched wilderness.

Nugget Falls

OPTIONAL. You will have a total of 2 hours at the Glacier to explore on your own. You can see Nugget Falls from the parking lot and Visitor's Center, but IF you choose to hike to Nugget Falls, it takes 45-60 minutes roundtrip to hike. If you are planning on hiking to the falls, please do this first to ensure you do not miss your return bus departure.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Very expensive bus ride to the entrance of the park (very far from the actual glacier). “Tour guide” pointed out the local McDonalds and Costco. No history or helpful information. Save a ton of money and ride the city bus for $2

Thank you for taking the time to send us in a review. We appreciate it. The US Forest Service dictates the only place we can drop off passengers inside the park, about a 200 yard walk to the visitor center. The glacier has receded some and with the lake in front, it can look a little far away. The city bus is a cheaper alternative, but plan for a full day. To walk into and out of the park will be a round trip of 3 miles. If the bus is full on the return you will need to wait there for the next scheduled bus. They do not send an additional bus for stranded passengers. You could miss your all aboard taking this route. We are sorry you found your tour uninformative. We have reached out to you to try and make this a better experience for you.

Mendenhall glacier is great. We also walked to the waterfalls. The waterfalls are very impressive. Amount of water is unbelievable. It was an easy hike. Glad we went early. Crowds build pretty quickly

the nugget waterfall was awesome !! it was running real well it was a beautiful sunny day picture perfect view of the glacier too
