Julia H. gave us an enthusiastically led paddle across the glacial lake which was dotted with blue icebergs. Great trip for couples willing to work up at least a little sweat. For those with mobility or fitness challenges, the big canoes are probably a better option. Julia made sure we got plenty of great pics and stayed safe. The tour operator provided rubber boots and rain gear to stay dry. The kayaking trip was a great shore excursion, though wouldnā€™t necessarily combine with the salmon bake, which was a bit lame, especially if youā€™re the active type of person who signs up for sea kayaking. We interpreted the description of the combo package as the salmon bake being the destination of the kayaking adventure, but itā€™s really a separate trip.

Awesome experience, especially in the morning as the lake was calm and relaxing. Our guides Jack and Peyton were great, giving us lots of information about the glacier and the lake.

Being in Nature getting to be in the middle of majestic mountain ranges, view of the Mendenhall Glacier and nature all around. It was great. I was a little hesitant since many said it was misleading due to how far you actually were from the glacier. This picture to me is perfect portrayal of how far you are. It was nice knowing that prior but to me it was still amazing. If you want to see the glacier up close take the shuttle to the glacier and walk around.
