My daughter and I, both experienced kayakers, were looking forward to this enormously, but finished the day slightly disappointed because aspects of the tour were badly managed. The main problem was that one pair of passengers clearly had no idea of how to paddle a kayak. That meant our party was constantly stopping and waiting for them to catch up. Our glacier views consequently turned out to be distant glacier glimpses. Another group that left at the same time we did covered at least twice as much distance. The tour company needs to vet its passengers more effectively to avoid incapable paddlers interfering with the experience of others. The company needs to also make sure that the excursion staff on cruise ships are properly informed and/or deliver accurate information. We feel we were misinformed about a number of aspects of this excursion - it was described as strenuous but was't even close to that, and the level of waterproofing gear provided was not what we were told by the on-board excursion staff (far less). Despite all this, the setting is absolutely amazing and it was still a worthwhile experience. An unexpected bonus was our bus driver, who was an absolute hoot with her tales of Alaskan life on the way back to the cruise terminal. Wish I had caught her name.

I went by myself on a Sea Kayak excursion, and have some experience paddling, and I absolutely loved the tour! I was in a nicely sized group led around by a guide named Hanna, who happened to be from Montana. She was able to chat the whole time about the flora and fauna, the magnificent glacier, and Juneau in general. She had facts ready for every part of the trip. Two thumbs up for Hanna Montana. It was a bargain deal due to how inexpensive the tour was which left me some money for tipping. I highly recommend coming out to do sea kayaking while you are in Juneau.

We took a family vacation to Alaska and decided to go kayaking for the first time as a family. It was a gorgeous area and a great time! We saw seals and eagles around, and had a very beautiful view of the glacier! Our guide Timmy was wonderful as well. He was a chest of knowledge about the wildlife and ecosystem, and also very fun and funny. Thank you Timmy! I would highly recommend this adventure for anyone stopping in Juneau.
