Our guide, Frank, took us to many interesting places in Mesa Verde throughout this tour, but the highlight clearly was Cliff Palace! It is so hard to believe how sophisticated a culture existed so many hundreds of years ago! We not only saw the ruins, we were able to hike down into the ruins and walk among them learning even m ore about this incredible culture! Be advised, however, the trek down the path to the Palace is challenging in places, but you are given the option to stay at the top of the canyon for viewing. So happy we were physically able to do it...remarkable! So glad we did this half-day tour or we would have been wandering the park without direction and information. Frank spent a great deal of time with us and it was worth the money!

My husband and I planned our entire almost 2 week vacation out west around this experience. I had come across some pictures on Pinterest (yep, it comes in handy sometimes) and I just had to go. It didn't disappoint. While the tour takes you to see several things, the palace is obviously the grand finale. You literally get to walk among the ruins as if you were there at the time it was built It is truly a surreal experience. It does involve some walking and climbing, so it is not ideal for people who have serious disabilities. However, there are several areas that are more easily accessible in the park that at least allow for good views of the site.
