Overview

Experience the thrill of chasing the Midnight Sun! Learn to photograph the dramatic sunset colors in Denali with a maximum of 4 participants per tour. This tour provides a personalized photography experience featuring a prolonged “magic hour.” Revel in the beautiful alpenglow on the mountains and spectacular cloudscapes. During mid-summer, sunset is close to midnight due to our far north location. The sunset colors last for an extended period of time, giving us ample opportunity to move to several locations during “golden hour” for instruction and experimentation with different compositions, focal lengths, and exposure settings. This tour also offers good potential for moose sightings because there is less human activity during this time of day.

What an excellent time we had with Eva on our photo excursion. I am a very experienced photographer but Eva provided me some great suggestions on how to make my pictures even better. My wife had her iPhone and I use a digital SLR. We both captured some fantastic images. My love for landscape photography has been renewed! She took us to some great locations where we were able to really focus on capturing the beautiful landscape. Photographing the moose was a great bonus. I highly recommend this tour!

We participated in the Midnight Sun Photo Excursion with our guide Todd. We had a wonderful time with him. I appreciated the ability to rent digital SLR cameras and memory cards from Denali Photo Guides. It saved me from lugging heavy equipment across country! Todd was a wonderful guide and teacher. In addition to providing tips, tricks and techniques about SLR photography, he taught us a few things about enhancing our iPhone photos! Todd also knows many out of the way places in the Denali area that provide captivating vistas for photos. Kudos to Todd! We enjoyed our experience so much that we went back for a daytime photo tour with him.

Eva was our guide for the evening and picked us up at our lodge in a pickup truck and took us to spots around the area to get great shots. The tour started at 9:00 pm and ended around 12:30 am. Not only did I get the opportunity to see the beautiful landscape but Eva taught me some techniques on how to take better photos with my iPhone as well as with my “real” camera. I’ve taken 2 other photo tours - one in Venice and one In Budapest and this one was by far the best because of Eva’s involvement and engagement in the tour. Here come the Skittles, thanks so much Eva!
