We took a trip to Atlanta to celebrate my birthday and chose this tour as my birthday dinner. The tour is based in midtown Atlanta, an area chock full of excellent restaurants. Our tour guide, John, is an excellent host. He gave a quick overview of the history of the area, but concentrated on the food, restaurants, and the neighborhood. He is a delightful guide, with entertaining stories and extensive knowledge of Atlanta, its people, and its food scene. His choice of restaurants is superb with a wide variety of tastes and treats in the five stops on the walking tour. I won't name the restaurants since John keeps them a surprise, but all of them were fabulous. Every course was fantastic and each was totally different. They reflected the vitality and diversity of the midtown Atlanta neighborhood. You do not need to be a "foodie" to appreciate it. If you are going to Atlanta and enjoy good food and great story telling, this is a "must do" event. In addition, this was also one of the best walking tours that I have experienced. It was only the second food tour that I have done, but I believe that I agree with John when he said to do a food tour on your first visit to a city. This gives you a great introduction to the city and its life. Overall, this was an incredible experience and I give it my highest recommendation.

Matthew, You are the best! What a terrific review! More and more often my Food Tour has been a Birthday celebration...even anniversaries(!)...and to be able to walk about, taste, sip, chat, grin...and even laugh out loud...this all becomes the memories of a fabulous afternoon! I love Atlanta but, most particularly, my Midtown neighborhood! I'm sure that you figured out early on into the Food Tour why my sweet Jeri and I wouldn't live anywhere else...in the world!! My best!! John

I have lived in the Atlanta area for over 30 years, and I learned more about midtown in this one afternoon than all my other trips in-town combined. This is a fun experience for out of town guests as well as well as locals. John is a wonderful tour guide, and the food stops are unique and yummy!!

Come on, you local TA readers! Katherine has been in the Atlanta for...well...less than half my age (!)....but.... still has a great point. My Tour reflects the 18+ years my sweet Jeri and I have lived in Midtown and I truly want you to know...and enjoy my neighborhood. A bit of Atlanta history! Then a lot of food and fun! Thank you, Katherine, for the wonderful review! Don't be a stranger! The Fox Theater! The Laughing Skull Comedy Theater! The Alliance Theater! Come be entertained...and you gotta eat! So many dining choices! So little time! Just call me!!!! My best! John

I booked the tour as a part of my boyfriend's birthday present and we both loved it. From my first conversation with John it felt like I was making plans with a friend. He really is as kind, knowledgeable and engaging as all the reviews say! We loved the food, drinks, stories and history - a perfect combination. It was a lovely afternoon with the perfect amount of food. John is more than willing to give suggestions on other fun and delicious places to visit in Atlanta so this is a great first stop. Thanks for everything, John!

Hi Sonja! I know that M. was thinking that it was going to be difficult to top that "birthday" gift! Lots of food! Lots of fun! And the group you were with was perfect...a couple from Colorado that had been married 35+ years, a honeymoon couple from the UK...and you and your boyfriend! The memories of your Tour still make me grin! Again...the "first stop" suggestion for others considering a Food Tour as fun during their visit is spot on! Plan a Tour early in your stay as food tour guides are often a wealth of information re: other dining options...and even which tourist stops are worth your time (and money!) Let's do this again! How about a "Night Tour"! December! Tell M. that food and fun make for a great stocking stuffer! My best to you both! John
