I thoroughly enjoyed my time with John at PeachTree Walking Tours. 2 miles sounds long on foot, but it was nothing except when I continued to get full from the delicious spots I was introduced to! John was a great tour guide and full of jokes! I would definitely recommend anyone spending time in Atlanta to take advantage of the tour to learn the history and hidden gems in Midtown. I can't believe I wasn't able to finish all of my samples, but it made for great snacks on the ride back. Plus we got to go shopping!

Hello Joy! Whoa!! The pressure! A professional comedienne as a tour guest...and me mixing facts with fiction with a big dose of humor! I'm thinking that we all had a blast! Lots of food! Lots of laughs! (And there were even a few go-bags!) TA readers: "Shopping"...did she say? Yep! Why not some tasty treats to take home??!! Thanks, Joy, for the shout out! My best! John

I had time to kill in Atlanta and was looking for fun things to do. I love restaurants and food. John does an amazing job. The food choices were delicious, true southern fare along with great parings of alcohol. The tour was rich in Atlanta history and architecture. John limits the groups to 8. There were 7 in our group and they were all delightful He makes this looks like a breeze but he works very hard behind the scenes to make it all work. He has great rapport with restaurants hostesses, hence we were treated very well. The food tour exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it. Also we walked throughout the tour which made it even more enjoyable.

Hello Karin! Gotta love to hear that my foodie adventure caused you to write..."exceeded my expectations." Yahoo! And...Karin is right about all the behind the scenes work that is involved in making a Food Tour unfold as a terrific way to spend an afternoon. It's not just the fabulous food...and some lovely drinks...but it's the stories that bind it all together. Bits of history! Local lore! Trivia about my neighborhood! Join me! Let's go for a stroll down famous Peachtree Street! Thank you, Karin, for taking a moment to share your experience with TA readers!! My best always! John

Being a food tour owner myself (East TN Tours in Knoxville, TN), it's always so cool to see how other people in other wonderful cities run theirs! I cannot say enough good things about John and his tour....this was my hubby and mine first trip to Atlanta EVER, and it was the perfect mix of getting to know great, yummy restaurants AND an informative history lesson! Definitely try to come on this tour at the beginning of your trip/stay if you can :) We went to 5 restaurants over the course of about 4 hours, eating at the first four "in house" and taking to-go pastry/baked good treats with us from the last stop. The first stop was one of the best burgers you'll ever try in your life, the second stop was amazing "standard" Southern dish, the third stop was two flavorful Italian plates (and you get a small-medium size alcoholic drink at the first 3 stops, too!), the fourth stop was a choice of coffee beverage with your pick of a cake/pie dessert, and the last 5th stop you get to pick 2 per person sweet and/or savory baked good pastry type things from a scrumptious sweet shop to eat for later (or then if you so choose!). The whole tour was sprinkled with great bits of history, stories, jokes, laughter, things to come and good company all around. All-in-all, TAKE THIS TOUR if you can next time you get to downtown/midtown Atlanta (the price is worth it!)

Hi Lauren! Thanks for the very "detailed" review. We both know TA readers want to know what's so great about Peachtree Food Tours...and TA readers...Lauren is spot on!! The best advice??? It's in the review! Try to take a Food Tour at the beginning of your stay in any large city. Get dining-smart quickly! There is nothing worse than spending good money on bad food. Let your guide lead you to the better choices...as well as what else there is to do in town. If you don't ask your guide questions (Where to eat breakfast? Other tours? Romantic restaurants? Where to shop? Etc...), you are missing a golden opportunity!! Peachtree Food Tours is lots of food...and lots of fun...and lots of great info! Come join us! Thanks again, Lauren! John
