Known for its art, each wall in Midtown tells a story.

Midtown Sacramento is a most vibrant part of the city! Among other things, tour guests will learn the intriguing history of murals in the city, while experiencing Sacramento’s current art scene. Guests will also try dishes from some of midtown’s finest menus, in an area of the city that has exploded with restaurants in recent years.

Along the way, we’ll pop into venues with farm-to-fork ingredients and farm-to-glass libations, all sure to tantalize your palate while filling your belly. Our culinary concierge will guide the group in and out of eateries while pointing out the sights and sounds of midtown in between.

Local Roots Food Tours limits the group size of each tour to no more than 14 individuals. Special dietary needs can be met with prior notice. Senior, military, and children discounts are available.

CC, the tour guide was great! She is a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Enjoyed seeing the murals and hearing about their stories. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food served. Because of our experience with CC, we will try another tour. Maybe the other restaurants will impress us.

You may not spend another three hours in Sacramento that are this much fun. C.C. was an amazing guide, the murals are inspiring, the food perfect. I'm ready to sign up for another one of their tours. Don't miss it.

My husband and I did the Midtown Arts tour on 2/20/22 with CC. We originally planned this to be our Valentine's Day date, but then we found the Super Bowl was happening on the same day. Rescheduling was super fast and easy. We had a fantastic time on the tour. Even though we're locals, we'd never spent much time in Midtown Sacramento. We learned so much. We saw the city with fresh eyes. CC was a great guide. We loved her enthusiasm and energy. She was so knowledgeable about the artists and the murals. The food was very good too. We had delicious tacos, empanadas, churros, coffee, drunken noodles, pizza, and even a cocktail! We'd done walking foodie tours before, and we'd left still kinda peckish. We were so full after this tour! As a bonus, our group let us take the leftovers home (the others were staying in hotels without fridges), and we had them for dinner. Love the no-waste mindset! Bottomline: We loved the tour. We highly recommend it to locals and visitors alike. It was a perfect day.
