Your tour begins when you meet your guide in Sedona and strap yourself into a trusty Jeep for a wild desert adventure. As you climb 2,000 feet (607 meters) in elevation toward the peak of Mogollon Rim, you'll see three contrasting ecological zones that your guide will explain in captivating detail. Took the three hour ride up the trail to the summit. Great scenery. Our tour guide, Doc, was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife, flora and fauna. He will stop at any time you request to allow you to take photos. Spectacular vistas. Ice cold water is made available at the top. One note of caution -- a fellow rider lost his wallet along the numerous bumps and jolts on the roughly 8 mile trail. The wallet was in his back pocket and there is a gap between the back seat cushion and the seat and it fell onto the road. Make sure all your belongings are secure. (We found out the next day that an honest hiker found and returned his wallet that day).

Four siblings and spouses went on the jeep tour with Nick. We did not realize that the Schnebly Hill Road would be as bumpy as it turned out to be, but all of us thoroughly enjoyed the ride and views of the Sedona area. He gave us time to stop along the trail for pictures, gave a good history of the area, took our pics, etc. Many other companies also offered rides up the hill, but we feel we had the best ride of the day.

We took this tour up the old Munds wagon trail in late afternoon, arriving at the top shortly before sunset. Nick, our guide, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. The view at the destination was fantastic: back down towards Sedona, with the sun lighting up the red rocks all around us. There were several formations at the top to climb around while search for an even better view. Nick taught us a lot (being a former teacher) about Native American culture, current issues in the region, history and culture in Sedona, and lots more. It's a old wagon road, so be prepared for a bumpy ride--but we enjoyed it. Just two couples in our jeep, so that contributed to the small, intimate experience.
