Your tour begins when you meet your guide in Sedona and strap yourself into a trusty Jeep for a wild desert adventure. When everyone is settled, ascend a 100-year-old wagon trail to the edge of the Colorado Plateau, and cruise along Bear Wallow Canyon, taking in mesmerizing views of red rock cliffs juxtaposed with winding highways.

Mogollon Rim

As you climb 2,000 feet (607 meters) in elevation toward the peak of Mogollon Rim, you'll see three contrasting ecological zones that your guide will explain in captivating detail. Marvel at the natural diversity that makes Arizona such a special part of the country, including natural landmarks like iconic Snoopy Rock, Merry-Go-Round Rock, Munds Mountain Wilderness and Mitten Ridge Wilson Mountain.

We took the Mogollon Rim tour offered by Arizona Safari Jeep Tours and Matt was our driver. He was a wealth of knowledge about the area, geography, Native American history, plants, animals - you name it, he can tell you all about it. This is a MUCH better trip than the Pink ones. Their drivers weren't saying a word to their passengers. They were racing by us, passing us along the tour, in an effort to simply move masses of people quickly up and down the rim. Their passengers didn't appear to be receiving the "experience" that Arizona Safari Jeep Tours and their guides like Matt were providing us with. We had a fantastic time and learned a lot. If you're heading to Sedona, I'd suggest this be the very first thing you do, on the first day you arrive. It will give you a greater understanding and better appreciation of the area you're in. It's a bit bumpy as can be expected. My parents are in their late 60's and had no issues with it whatsoever. You head up Schnebly Hill Road and you get to see Snoopy Rock, Ship Rock, the Cow Pies formation, Merry Go Round Rock (where Elvis Presley filmed a movie), and more (see pic). The entire time Matt was pointing out plants, old wagon trails, Native American history, explained how the area was formed and even told us about the giant camels that used to live there in dinosaur times. Worth every penny - ask for Matt!

From the moment we three friends took the jeep through Sedona to the Mogollon Rim, we knew it was a glorious happy day. Paul, our tour guide was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. He made the three hour tour a wonderful experience in which we will never forget. We appreciate his thoughtfulness and his wonderful stories. We highly recommend Paul for the Mogollon Rim Tour. Thank you, Dominic, for a great tour. It was informative and fun. Dom's personality made the tour even better. Anyone can impart information but to do it in a way that we totally enjoyed was even better. The very bumpy ride and gorgeous views, added to the history and understanding of the terrain, made this a wonderful way to start our day.
