Our guide, Richard, grew up in Monument Valley and shared his knowledge and insights on a wonderful back country tour. It was unhurried and took us to the right spots, explaining aspects of Navajo culture and history, advising on photography, playing his musical pipe, sharing his love of music. Simpson’s, and Richard in particular, were recommended to us, and we do the same. We gained so much more than simply driving round the public part of the Valley

Our guide was phenomenal. In addition to explaining the monuments and geology of the area, he taught us alot about Navajo culture. The tour went in areas that were not on the open 17 mile ride. It was a marvelous experience that added a great deal to our visit to Monument Valley. Be aware that the jeep is an open vehicle, no roof, the seats are not well padded, and the road is extremely rough.
