Our boat captain and instructor were very serious about protocols and safety. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins who swam with our boat as we headed out from the harbour. We drove out for about an hour before locating a protected area to snorkel and thoroughly enjoyed a safe, fun, relaxed experience. Saw a few fish and were reminded not to touch the coral. On the way back we explored the shoreline.

Captain Lena and her crew such as Bryan were amazing. It was fun and the were so patient with our children’s endless questions. It was like going out to snorkel with friends. This is my 2nd time going out with them and I am booked for tonight manta ray swim. So that’s 3 bookings and I can’t wait to go fishing with them on my next visit to the Big Island. Ocean Encounters never disappoints.

We had a blast! Went out hoping to see some dolphins and snorkel. Unfortunately no dolphins, but we had a blast snorkeling. Manta rays to Huma Huma triggers, Puffer fish to Long Nose Butterfly fish quite the array of see life. Crew was great, Lena and Louis. Can't say enough nice things about them and the customer service they showed my family. Highly recommend this trip, even without the dolphins. We were lucky enough to get a second trip, because we didn't see the dolphins. This was an afternoon trip, Lena was still the Captain and she is a Rockstar! The other crew members were nice and courteous as well. This time we went up towards the airport and at our first stop saw more Manta Rays. Second stop was right above a reef arch that had tons of fish, best spot by far. We all agree we would do this all over again.
