Delightful group leaders. Lots of great historical trivia. Also discovered many places I want to go back to on foot to explore further, Stop at cider bar was yummy, timely and also had great wall art. Whole tour was totally fun! Highly recommend!

I learned SO much while on the Mountain Mural Tour in Asheville this week. I am a great fan of murals in cities where I have traveled, and this tour was a fun way to learn about and see many of the murals around town. Krista has obviously done a lot of research and talked to many of the mural artists. She shared stories about murals related to the history of Asheville, as well as many of the whimsical and clever artwork seen. Krista's husband Lewis drove the small, comfortable bus and added comments (and humor) as well. We had a short break at the Urban Orchard Cider Co. West before we continued on through West Asheville. We returned to our starting point in River Arts District where all of the buildings are covered with artwork. Since I work with clay, my favorite mural is Day Dreamer, located on Aston St on a wall of the Aloft Hotel. This mural is made 3 dimensional with the addition of ceramic tiles, a style different from most of other murals. This tour is a great way to learn more about some of Asheville’s outdoor art, and is highly recommended.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review! I appreciate giving the tour to artists that really understand the creation process. Daydreamer is one of my favorites too!!

I am a travel agent, and one of my niches is senior travel. When I went on this tour, I was accompanying 3 ladies over the age of 70, 2 of whom have had knee replacement surgery. I was delighted to find this tour, because I knew they wouldn't have to do a lot of walking. Little did I know how entertaining and informational it would be - we LOVED it! We traveled all over Asheville, seeing and learning about the city's street art, graffiti and murals, many of which were commissioned by the city or by individual property owners. I've traveled to Asheville many times over the last 20 years, and this tour gave me insight and information that I never got from just walking around the city on my own. Learning about the artists was a nice touch, especially learning about their styles so we could recognize their work as we rode through different neighborhoods. The art is always changing, so there's always something new to see. I knew that Asheville has long been a haven for artists, but had no idea that the art community runs so strong and deep. I would highly recommend this tour for any age, and for casual visitors and Asheville residents alike, because the information gained is great! SIDEBAR - The "pit stop" at the Urban cidery was a nice touch, since it gave us a chance to sample some local refreshments and interact more with other passengers on the tour.
