You will start your excursion by checking into our log cabin office at the Talkeetna State Airport 45 minutes prior to your flight departure.  Be sure to bring your sunglasses, light jacket (in the summer) and plenty of memory on your camera. Board our ski-equipped aircraft and enjoy your pilots' commentary about the geological history and local wildlife on your individual headset.   Continue your flight above Talkeetna and over the river systems of the Susitna valley as you enter into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snow peaks.  You'll be awed by the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, making this one of the deepest gorges in the world. Travel further into the range to explore the seven major glaciers that blanket the southside of the Alaska Range. Add a glacier landing onto your trip for a highlight of your Alaska vacation.  This will add 30 minutes onto your trip time for this chance to bask in awe inspiring scenery.

We had a wonderful experience with our pilot Chris, who was very experienced and informative on our flight. He made us feel very comfortable and showed us some amazing scenery on a beautiful day! We felt very lucky to go on the flight. It was smooth and just a little cold for a while at the highest point, but otherwise very worthwhile! If the day is clear, it is a must to do! Amanda at the front desk and all the other employees were very nice and helpful also!

The whole experience was wonderful, from check in to returning the glacier boots. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable (gave excellent restaurant recommendation) but focused on safety. Our pilot, Richard, has been flying here for 23 years, but is still passionate about what he does, again with an emphasis on safety. The scenery is spectacular and flying close to the mountains gives you a remarkable experience only surpassed by the glacier walk at 7000 feet. Not just a highlight of our Alaskan vacation but a highlight of our 50 state quest which reached its successful conclusion here in Alaska.

I am an instrument-rated pilot from Texas. My first concern is safety. The TAT planes and equipment and first class, maintain like new, and in excellent condition. Our pilot, Michael, a skilled commercial-rated pilot, is equally skilled and safe. He knows how to maneuver the plane for optimum comfort of the passengers, alerting us to what he is doing (turns, ascent, descent) before he executes. He is an equally good tour guide in the air but his cockpit situation awareness never waivers. We had a beautiful clear day and the air tour exceeded all expectations. I don't weep easily but these views of Creation being awe and delight. The staff on the phone and at check in have a wonderful service culture. You immediately feel welcome and appreciated. This service is definitely a choice for experience and safety.
