What To Expect

Talkeetna Air Taxi

You will start your excursion by checking into our log cabin office at the Talkeetna State Airport 45 minutes prior to your flight departure. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, light jacket (in the summer) and plenty of memory on your camera. Board our ski-equipped aircraft and enjoy your pilots' commentary about the geological history and local wildlife on your individual headset. Continue your flight above Talkeetna and over the river systems of the Susitna valley as you enter into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snow peaks. You'll be awed by the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, making this one of the deepest gorges in the world. Travel further into the range to explore the seven major glaciers that blanket the southside of the Alaska Range. Add a glacier landing onto your trip for a highlight of your Alaska vacation. This will add 30 minutes onto your trip time for this chance to bask in awe inspiring scenery.

Of the 18 days we spent in Alaska, this Flightseeing Tour was one of two top exceptional experiences! Safety is number one for these folks, our pilot was experienced, everything was well organized, and we were well taken care of. The pilot's narrative enhanced the experience, in that we knew what we were looking at. The views were amazing, seriously some of the most beautiful scenery ever! The glacier landing was flawless, thrilling, and once in a lifetime! The plane was comfortable as were the headsets. We had signed up for the Grand Denali Tour, but at the pilot's discretion, we did not circumvent the mountain due to weather. However, the pilot made sure that the experience was exceptional. He flew the plane in such a way that the passengers on both sides of the plane got to see all of the views. We got a refund for the difference between the flight we booked and the flight we took. We felt appreciated as customers, and the pilot expressed thanks for all of us (9) flying with them. Do this!
