Overview
Standing majestically over the city, Mt Hood is the most prominent peak in the Oregon cascades. A popular destination for hiking, camping, and climbing, the glaciers atop Mt. Hood provide the only year-round lift-served skiing in North America, from the beautiful Timberline Lodge. Oregon Tour Co. offers a full day trip to the mountain, which includes the beautiful Hood River Valley, as well as the breathtaking waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge.

Traveled with Pete to the Columbia River Gorge area and Vista House. Pete was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Then traveled on to view numerous waterfalls and ultimately Multnomah Falls. We appreciated the sites and views Pete pointed out to us. After lunch we were on to Mount Hood and Timberline Lodge. Thanks to Pete for making the day so enjoyable and relaxing.

We went to the Columbia Gorge area, stopping at several waterfalls and points of interest, then headed to Hood River for lunch and ice cream! Then we continued on to Mt Hood and Timberline Lodge. What an amazing day! Pete was very nice and knowledgeable on the area and so much more about Oregon. We truly enjoyed our time together and would highly recommend Pete or his son for a tour! I’ve taken many tours in my life, but this was by far the most I’ve learned in an 8 hour period. Our tour guide, Peter, is an amazing communicator with an off-the-cuff charm. A native Portlander, Peter did not regurgitate information from guide books, but had in-depth scientific and historical knowledge of the land - from geology, botany, and biology to the culture and human history of this area. I was thoroughly impressed. If you’re a science buff, I guarantee you that you will not find a more interesting tour. He was also very helpful at each stop, making sure that we knew all the choices available. The tour felt flexible and unrushed. I brought my parents, who are non-native English speakers and they also just loved it.
