Overview

Fun, interactive murder mystery theater on the trolley! Someone has murdered the Circus Queen...and suspects abound among the circus folk on board. Everyone seems to have a motive. Wear a circus costume if you wish, find yourself among the suspects, and help our sleuths to solve the mystery!

There is no acting. You are only reading lines in a script for speaking parts or wearing a prop for non-speaking roles. In order for the show to work we highly encourage guests to participate- it’s easy and very fun! Our roles are cast in advance, so please contact us

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the tour leaves. Trolleys leave at your scheduled time. If you don't arrive within 5 minutes of departure time, we reserve the right to resell your ticket.

Oh my gosh! This was the experience was so much fun!!! I love how they guests are also part of play and that it is a musical. (Given prompts and scripts) I got to be the Bearded Lady, Sofanda! hahaha!!! I also love all the stops we we went to and learned a little history of Sarasota. I highly recommend going on this experience whether you are a local resident or just in Sarasota for a visit. It is so much fun! And the perfect amount of time. Oh, and the cottage and gift shop that we meet at is absolutely darling!!! It has such fun and unique gifts. Thank you for such a great night.

Great show! Loaded with layers of entertainment and fun: Interaction with each other as well as the talent, refreshment, music, singing, acting, historical Sarasota landmarks and references, and a murder mystery that participants solve. I consider this a PSA because a little laughter and entertainment is a good thing. If you’ve never been on one of these trolley tours—Discover Sarasota does it right!

A novel whodunit ride of amusement in an old circus town once known for its Ringling fame. Now rejuvenated one trolley ride at a time cherished what was, and is again for another generation of festive riders. This is a new offering from Discover Sarasota Tours having survived by a godsend the Covid-19 lockdowns. Our trolley had most windows open for very good cool air circulation. Although no one was wearing face masks. I'm sure we're all vaccinated to the high heavens. Every rider is given a circus role bag with an accessory to wear. From the bearded lady, showgirls, poodles, and elephants to name a few. (I was Elephant #1 and made the role all my own as part peanut gallery, pun intended.) :op This ride stops at pit stops unfortunately that are mostly deserted where costumed actors in circus regalia reenact a zany circus Queen murder whodunit. The riders with speaking roles get to read from cue cards at times cheesy funny lines to punctuate the comedy at hand. My role as Elephant #1 was a non-speaking role, but I made sure to quip in with a silly elephant roar at certain punch lines all the same. Although prices seem to have risen from last year they have done so modestly. This is worth the joy of getting to tour the gentrified sections of downtown Sarasota at night. The vistas become part of the theatrical backdrop on wheels especially the Main street drive-by with a sing-along to boot.
