What To Expect

Golden

Delicious Mystery is a full, progressive meal guided by a puzzle adventure. On the day of your Delicious Mystery tour, you and your partner will receive a link to the tour website that introduces The Lost Mine story and gives your first location to visit. From there, you'll follow the story on your phone, solving puzzles to advance the plot and reveal the pick-up locations of your food and drinks. At each restaurant, you'll go to the counter and let them know that you're there for a Delicious Mystery pick-up. As you find a shady place and enjoy your dish, you uncover more of the story and start working on your next puzzle. Bring your appetite– there's quite a bit of food! You can expect dishes from unique and wonderful, locally-owned restaurants. Bring a pencil and paper for solving puzzles– you'll need it! If you get stuck, there are hints (and even answers) available, so the puzzles will never truly stand between you and your next pick-up.

Beginning to end it was a blast. Golden is the perfect town for a delicious mystery. Visited many of our favorite spots and a few new ones. Highly recommended!

Delicious Mystery is part choose-your-own-adventure and part food tour. The idea is that you solve puzzles and follow subsequent clues from restaurant to restaurant for different courses, until you solve the mystery and get dessert. The food was good, and the restaurants were within a few of blocks of each other so you don't have to do that much walking. My husband, son, and I did it together -- I'd say three is the max and two would be better -- too many cooks spoiling the puzzle pot otherwise. I hadn't been to Golden for years, and this was a fun welcome back.
