Mystery Puzzle Food Tour in Lahaina (For 2)

Overview

Inspired by Escape Rooms and classic Food Tours, this is a curated experience where puzzles sent to your phone act as your guide. The puzzles tell a story, and each one reveals a new location with a delicious food pick-up or a bit of local history. Five food and drink stops are included, for a full progressive meal.

To provide a great local experience, we've partnered with restaurants and shops that lovingly showcase foods grown and produced in Hawaii.

The Lahaina Delicious Mystery is called "The Ghost Ship" and it follows the story of a sunken ship from the time when Lahaina was the whaling capital of the world. Through puzzles, guests restore paranormal peace to Lahaina (while eating well along the way!)

All of our vendors follow Hawaii's mask mandates as well as mandates for restaurant cleanliness, the customer picks up a to-go order and they dine al fresco. It's a fairly low-contact experience and the majority of it occurs outdoors.

What To Expect

Lahaina Banyan Court Park

Guests solve a series of puzzles; and their answers guide them to the locations of their Food Tour stops, where mystery treats await them as a reward for their quick wit and cunning. The tour follows a unique, locally-themed story. (Note: The address provided is a suggested starting place near the Tour locations.)

This food tour is a lot of fun. Some puzzles are more challenging than others. The food was really good and gave you a variety of flavors as you moved through the courses. Would highly recommend.

We had a great time, all the food that we received was high quality and very good. The puzzles were challenging but not too difficult and everything was in walking distance. I highly recommend!

SUMMARY: If you are a couple traveling to Maui, this is an excellent introduction to the city of Lahaina. It is casually informative, mentally engaging and a delightful culinary frolic through the historic downtown area. TARGET AUDIENCE: I would say that although the experience is still viable for younger or older, the people who will probably find themselves enjoying this the most are from 18 to 60. Anyone who likes the idea of escape rooms, puzzles of any kind, possess a spirit of adventure and accept a wide variety of foods. THE PUZZLES: I think Delicious Mystery did a fantastic job crafting the puzzle experience. They are just challenging enough to get your juices flowing but not impossible. If you begin to feel frustrated, just open up a hint or two. (My girlfriend and I did use 2 hints for the first one - just to verify I was on the right track. And I was!) THE FOOD: Without giving away any spoilers, I must say I was impressed. They have partnered with some great vendors who were all very responsive when we arrived at their establishments. Each food and drink item was well-prepared and left us with the impression that we were on a special adventure. THE DELICIOUS MYSTERY COMPANY: I found the staff behind the scenes to be very responsive and helpful. I communicated with them both on Facebook and via text when we had some questions during the experience. Great people!
