The morning tour (6:30 AM or 7:00 AM) is our most recommended tour due to calmer ocean conditions and more wildlife sightings.
Raft tours will include seeing and possibly entering sea caves and snorkeling, but only if the ocean conditions are safe enough to do so. Your tour’s Captain will make this decision. (We do not snorkel in the sea caves.)
We recommend booking early in your vacation in case of a weather cancellation, you have more time left in your vacation to rebook.
Our tour departs from the west side of Kauai— We meet in Waimea at the Na Pali Riders office.
When ocean conditions are not favorable for a Na Pali Coast tour or the minimum passenger count for the safety and stability of our vessel is not met, you will be offered the following: The option to rebook for a different date and time. The option for a full refund.
WARNING: The Zodiac© raft makes for a wild and rough ride. Due to the nature of the Nā Pali Ocean Raft Tour, you must be in good physical condition to attend this tour. We cannot accommodate pregnant women, anyone with back or neck problems, medical conditions or recent surgeries.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

What a wonderful experience! I have been on two tours of the Na Pali coast previously and the third time must be the charm because this one was clearly the best. Captain Brandon is a former (15 years) Coast Guard captain certified to captain vessels up to 1,600 tons. Obviously, he is more than adequately trained to keep us safe as we travel the open ocean up to the Na Pali coast. He also was extremely knowledgeable about the area, both the geology and Native Hawaiian history. Riding a Zodiac can be a bit bumpy but Captain Brandon expertly navigated the waves and currents to make the trip as smooth and comfortable as possible. First Mate Makayla was an absolute treasure. Her positive energy was infectious as she constantly monitored everyone on board to insure they were safe and comfortable. She even had little ginger candies to help settle the stomach of the one person who had a little motion sickness. She came prepared! She also took amazing photos and videos so we didn’t need to and could just enjoy the show. We saw amazing water falls, sea caves (some big enough to enter), lots of spinner dolphins doing aerial tricks for our pleasure and learned innumerable facts about Native Hawaiian life on the Na Pali coast. Motoring in the open ocean in a Zodiac can be a little “adventurous” as Captain Brandon and Makayla often say. Our safety was clearly their primary concern and I couldn’t have felt safer. The trip was exciting, fun and educational. Everyone on board just had a blast. It couldn’t have been better. A huge mahalo nui loa to Captain Brandon and Makayla for giving us all the adventure of a lifetime. Also, a big mahalo to Dakota who booked our tour and helped us get prepared. Mahalo hou!

The best activity we booked on the 3 islands of Oahu, Big Island and Kauai. Breathtaking nature, a very good captain and a funny, lively crew member. Small, friendly family business. Everything was 1A!

Wild and wet Zodiac dinghy tour along the beautiful Na Pali coast. We booked the tour at 11am-3pm. At this time the sea is wildest. Mornings and evenings are apparently quieter. Even though we had caught a “quiet” day, we were really shaken up... If you don’t like this, you shouldn’t book the tour. Be sure to take ribbons for tying or the like with you for your hat, mobile phone and sunglasses, otherwise you can go fluting. There were enough stops to take pictures and some caves were approached. We saw spinner dolphins on the way and some fish snorkeling. The crew took pictures of everything you could buy for $55. Captain and crew were in a good mood. We got duffel bags to store our things. There were life jackets, buoyancy noodles, flippers and diving masks. To eat chips and a small bag of fruit.
