We’ve been on many food tours (2-3 per year), and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. For $135 per person, we expected quality tastings and an engaging tour. Unfortunately, neither was delivered. One of the tastings consisted of two tiny, dried-up donuts. Another stop was at a food court—uninspired and lacking any uniqueness. One tasting included chicken so spicy only 2 out of 12 people could eat it. To top it off, another stop was at a fast food establishment. For $135, this was absolutely unacceptable. The tour took place in a bland commercial building area with no charm, history, or personality. It felt like walking through an old run down office park—not exactly what we envisioned for a food tour. We were assured the tour could accommodate one vegetarian in our group, but the options were laughable. One stop provided a cold small plastic side of beans, and another offered a fried hash brown (comparable to McDonald’s). Little history or context about the food or area was shared. When we politely expressed our disappointment, the guide, Josh, became defensive and rude, which only added to the frustration. Overall, we spent $135 per person ($1,620 total for our group of 12), but we could have visited all the stops ourselves for under $30 per person. This tour was a complete waste of time and money. We left feeling ripped off, disappointed, and regretful about wasting half a day on it. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this tour at all costs!

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your Nashville Private Walking Food Tour, Charles. We strive to provide a memorable and engaging experience for all our guests, and it’s disappointing to hear this tour didn’t meet your expectations. East Nashville is known for its eclectic and evolving food scene. While its charm lies in its diversity, it can present unique challenges in terms of curating tastings that cater to a wide range of preferences. That said, we take your feedback about the portion sizes and vegetarian offerings seriously, and we will review these points with our local team to ensure we’re delivering a more satisfying and inclusive experience for all our guests. We’re also surprised to hear your concerns about the guide, Josh. He consistently receives high praise for his knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with guests. While it seems this wasn’t your experience, we will address your feedback with him to ensure he maintains the welcoming and professional demeanor that has made him so well-regarded. Additionally, our tours are designed to blend delicious tastings with insightful context about the local area. It’s clear you felt this balance was lacking, and we’ll review the content shared on this tour to ensure it aligns with our usual standards. Having said these, we appreciate you taking the time to provide these insights, as they are vital for helping us improve. Despite your experience, we hope you’ll consider joining us on another Secret Food Tour in the future. With our presence in over 60 cities worldwide, we are confident we can provide you with the exceptional experience that so many of our guests have enjoyed.
