The visit to the NMAAM was far superior to what I expected. The exhibit gives a very graphic and informative journey through the history of the African American experience expressed through music...from slavery up to the present, from spirituals and gospels to funk and hip hop. The best part of the visit was being able to save playlists for download. I would definitely recommend!

This is a true music museum. It was spectacular! The exhibits of the different types of music, the origins of the music, the different genres. Man, it's a lot! I need to come back again because it's alot of knowledge all at once. You can't retain all that great information in one visit! Just to see all those great pictures that corresponds to the writings are so vivid! I loved it! I'm African American but didn't know a lot of important information that was given at this museum. I also loved the interactive stations. Make your own mix tape lol, dancing along to music and seeing yourself on stage in one of those interactive rooms. It was a good time. Oh don't forget the gift store! I found a nice scarf and a great book!
