Not gonna lie...when my wife purchased tickets for this tour I was not looking forward to it. However, when it was all said and done this ended up being a highlight of our trip. Our guide, Ariadne, made all the difference. Her knowledge of the history along with her pleasant delivery changed my mind in a hurry. Great tour!

Ernie was our tour guide and he was a treasure, in depth knowledge from the history of Louisiana, New Orleans, slavery and how to tell the difference from up river and down river... (forget your compass!) Thoroughly enjoyed not only Cemetery 1 and it's history and inhabitants but also the detailed background of how the cemetery is maintained and continues to be populated. The walking tour included a stop at Congo Square, Basin Street Station and Our Lady of Guadelupe Chapel. Highly Recommend!
