French Quarter
Meet your guide in the heart of the French Quarter to embark on your three-hour walking tour of world-class restaurants and foodie venues. Wander the lively streets of the French Quarter and get an insider's look at the kitchens often seen on food shows and featured in cookbooks. Let your guide know the restaurants you're interested in checking out or perhaps ask your guide to recommend a personal favorite. Indulge in food tastings during your tour. You may have a classic gumbo as a seafood treasure, boudin beignets and other authentic nibbles. Popular New Orleans' cocktails are available for purchase like the distinctive Pimms Cup with a ' twist. Pimms originated in England, but the Pimms Cup cocktail was dreamed up in New Orleans. Your tastings are all included in the price of your tour and many feel these tastings add up to a meal's worth of food. There's a moderate amount of walking involved as you move from one exceptional restaurant to the next, so it's easy to work off the calories!

The tour guide, Susan, was a 5/5, but Iā€™ve got to write this review for the food because it was, after all, a food tour. Every place we went to eat has a rating of about 3 1/2 stars or less. The best restaurants in the area donā€™t offer this type of experience because, frankly, they donā€™t have to. We started in the French Market which was a cool place to visit. We had a boudin which was really delicious and unlike anything Iā€™ve had thatā€™s similar. We expected that the first bite would preview all the good bites to come but we were wrong. We sampled a shrimp poā€™boy that was mehā€¦not even the crispy bread we were told to expect. My husband had about four little shrimp in his and that was it. The next place was some samplings 3 of other traditional dishes that just didnā€™t pass muster. Finally, the sweet treat at the end was a horrible way to finish off the tour. It was underdone and grainy and nothing like this delicious surprise should be. Hereā€™s the deal: Take your $70 and ask locals where they eat their traditional NOLA food. It will be money much better spent.

John did an amazing job on the food tour, he was able to make accommodations for me as I had a food allergy. He was very informative and we learned a lot about the history of the city and food. 10/10 would recommend for anyone visiting.

John, our tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and lots of great tips for us first timers in New Orleans. Food was flavorful, not over spicy like I thought it might be. We went on a 2pm tour, and didnā€™t have lunch so we were hungry and enjoyed every bite, especially the praline at the end. A very nice way to start the weekend.
