What To Expect

Bourbon Street

Cornet Restaurant. Experience the local flavor and legendary taste at the Cornet Restaurant, home of the largest balcony on Bourbon Street. Located on the corner of Bourbon and St. Peters streets in the heart of the French Quarter, Cornet serves authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine inspired by the cradle of jazz. The restaurant was founded by the family who gave Louis Armstrong his first horn, a cornet. The menu has been designed to celebrate the sounds and flavors of New Orleans. Get your taste buds ready for Famous Crawfish Etouffee served with Redfish. You may want to purchase a special Blueberry Hill drink for this experience.

We were lucky to have Lyndel as our guide for the Seafood Tour of the French Quarter. It felt like a 6 course meal served over the course of 3 hours (with generous portions for each tasting). We went to Tujagues, Cornet, The Old Coffee Pot, The Court of Two Sisters, Laura's and The Creole Cookery. All the food was great and if I had to pick a favorite it would be a close tie between the fried oysters with ravigot sauce at Tujagues (also I highly recommend trying their grasshopper as it was invented there) and the Blackend Catfish and crawfish mac n' Cheese at Cornet. However all of the food was excellent, those were my personal favorites. Lyndel went at a great pace and was very informative and friendly. I would 100% recommend this tour for any seafood lovers out there!

My family and I went on the seafood tour in the muggy heat of August, Lyndel made sure we had plenty of water the whole time and stay in the shade. The restaurants we went to were great, we even ended up back at one for dinner. This was a great half day activity to do while in town, and would recommend to any seafood lover.

We had the privilege of walking around with Lyndel! She was informative and had such a great rapport with the restaurants. She went above and beyond and really made our tour informational and picked some great places to try. My friends and I wound up going back to two of the places because of the tour !!
