The tour was an extensive, half-day tour of New Orleans by a guide who’s a local resident. Some emphasis was placed on areas outside the French Quarter, since most visitors of course get to walk that area by themselves. You do pay extra by being in a small van, instead of one of the tours that take place in a big bus. But I would say this is generally worth it. What was very much not right with me was the attitude of the guide towards his clients. At one point, I made a comment to him about something, and he condescending dismissed my views as “a conspiracy theory.” To make things worse, he proceeded to lecture me further about the details of his views, which I, as a Ph.D. scientist, knew to be incorrect. Of course he is entitled to his views. But a competent tour guide needs to be professional and not insult his clients. It made things worse that he proceeded to lecture me like I was a child. I did not respond to his lecture, but I do think it needs to be pointed out that this is just not a good way for a tour guide to interact with his clients.

René was fantastic!! Very informative but in a fun relaxed way! Never once felt like it was rushed. It was so much fun. Would definitely enjoy more tours with him! Ms. Isabelle is extremely courteous and well organized. Touched base immediately after booking and kept us up to date on exact pick up times.
