The Steamboat NATCHEZ is taking some time off, but her sister vessel will be taking her place. You'll get the same authentic experience of a grand paddlewheeler on a leisurely, two-hour cruise on the mighty Mississippi.
In order to help preserve the French Quarter from vehicular traffic, it is requested that you please walk, if possible, to the convenient tour departure point - just a short stroll from most downtown hotels.
The riverboat is handicap accessible. However, access to the top & bottom decks are by stairs only. Please call us with any questions before finalizing your plans if you have questions on access or personal equipment.
Infant rates apply provided they do not occupy a seat.
The riverboat cruises rain or shine.

This was advertised as the Steamboat Natchez. I was contemplating the Creole Queen alternative as it stopped at the Battle of New Orleans site. I decided to go with the Natchez because I wanted to see an old Steamboat. I was VERY upset to end up on the City of New Orleans instead...a modern boat. Very disappointed.

There was plenty of seating outside to view the riverbanks. The narration was very informative. The lunch food was okay but not great, but the desert was good.

Relaxing two hour trip with the captain narrating some history of the area was nice. But, the ship was overcrowded and lacked sufficient seating areas. It should have gone further down the river, as we only barely got down to some industrial areas. The food was horrible----so if you go, don't choose the food option, just do the tour. The food was "buffet style" but you didn't have a choice---everyone was given the same meal. The fish was fishy smelling and very oily; the rice and beans were bland; the jambalaya was bland; the bread pudding was horrible and mushy--not like the bread pudding we had at many other local restaurants.
