The three remaining buildings of the notorious red light district Storyville, where early Jazz developed.

Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church

Your guide will tour you through this oldest surviving church in New Orleans and explain its fascinating history.

Congo Square

You will experience this historic gathering place of African slaves, which is where much of New Orleans culture was born.

Louis Armstrong Park

You will visit this park named for New Orleans' most famous son Louis Armstrong.

Backstreet Cultural Museum

Dave Higgins was well-informed about the music scene, although I had already learned much of this at the Jazz museum. We had signed up for the Treme tour, and was disappointed that this was cancelled and we were assigned to another tour that actually stayed in the Armstrong Park, with two sites away from the park---which was also disappointing. Higgins was a very enthusiastic and lively presenter.

Went on two tours back to back days (music and Treme/Voodoo/Storyville. Both were outstanding, mostly thanks to the incredible David! He is a trove of knowledge and charisma. Just an outstanding guy. I’d listen to him talk about anything.

It was a small group and David H was very informative and energetic, you could tell her loved his job and meeting new people and having the opportunity to tell all about his city. He asked questions of us and was very interested in hearing some of our stories.
