Newport Centre

Newport Center is a big shopping mall near the Holland Tunnel, the world’s first automatically ventilated underwater tunnel and the longest underwater tunnel for vehicular traffic at the time of its opening in 1927. Following the 9/11 attacks, the Holland Tunnel remained closed to everyone except for emergency traffic for over a month.

Jersey City

Walk around to see nine of the tallest buildings in New Jersey, with their relatively new history. Previously bccupied by rail yards and plants, the city’s development in the 1980s marked a renaissance for Jersey City. Fast growth and the construction of highrises increased population and led to the appearance of one of the largest financial centers in the United States.

I met John in lower Manhattan and he was very knowledgeable about the history of new york and new jersey. As we walked around we actively discussed details around the revolutionary War up through the events around 9/11 and how the area has changed over time. I learned a great deal and would recommend to anybody interested in the new york metro history and architecture

FOR THJE FIRST TIME I VISITED A BREWERY IN FREEHOLD New Jersey. IT WAS A QUAINT PLACE WITH UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS SEATING. YOU COULD ORDER YOUR BEER AND THEN IF YOU WANTED FOOD YOU ORDERED IT BY PHONE. RESTAURANTS ARE NEAR THE BREWERY. ENTERTAINMENT WAS PROVIDED AT THE ARTIS BREWERY. THE ENTERTAINER, BRYAN BREATHES WAS PERFORMING. A VERY TALENTED YOUNG MAN WHO PLAYS THE PIANO, GUITAR AND HARMONICA CAPTURED THE AUDIENCE WITH HIS UNIQUE TALENTS OF THE MUSIC WORLD. HE TAKES REQUESTS AND PLAYS HIS OWN SONGS FOR THE EVENING. AT ONE POINT IN THE EVENING HE HAD ENGAGED 4 MEN IN ILLUSTRATING THEIR TALENTS ON THE MICROPHONE. THE AUDIENCE ENJOYED THAT SIDE SHOW WITH THE ENTERTAINER ACCOMPANY THEM ON HIS GUITAR. IT WAS A REQUEST MADE BY THEM AND BRYAN ENGAGED HIMSELF IN HELPING MAKE THE SHOW A SUCCESS. WHAT A EVENING THIS WAS! IF YOU GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT ARTIS BREWERY AT 36 SOUTH STREET IN FREEHOLD New Jersey YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. NOT ONLY ARE THE DRINKS WORTH WHILE BUT THE ENTERTAINMENT IS A REAL TREAT. YOU CAN EVEN BRING IN YOUR FOOD OR ORDER FROM NEARBY RESTAURANTS.
