The title is very misleading. Yes, you do get a candlelight tour in the last 15 minutes. But it is much more the history of the church and interesting stories. We did enjoy it overall because our tour guide was great. I just wish the title of the tour wasn't so misleading.

We booked this through our New York City Pass. The tour includes more than the catacombs. Our guide (Mike) took us around the cemeteries outside, explaining the history of the area in a way which was both informative and entertaining. He has the perfect personality for this task. Then we had some time in the church which really is lovely. The catacombs are not remotely ‘spooky’ but a very calm and quiet space. Mike was able to tell us about the significance of the differences between some of the crypts as well as the stories behind the names. Mike made us very welcome and his knowledge of and passion for, his subject could not be surpassed.
