Stefan was our guide. He's a native New Yorker and well informed on this topic. He's a tad long winded but he is aware of that and makes an effort to mitigate that trait. You get a lot of context for slavery in NYC. Mostly what you see are places where things once stood like the slave auction and the cotton exchange. Those structures have long been replaced. One place we did see was a site where slaves were buried. It is now a memorial and museum. Slavery was coerced immigration so white people could get rich. Our current focus on keeping immigrants out is also about money, which does seem to be the root of evil.

My older sister, 19 year old son and I wen on the tour. Our tour guide Andrew, was great. He was not a fast walker and could be heard very well without a mic. He answered all of my son's questions who never left his side. It was a great educational tour.

Went on the tour today and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a lot of walking. The tour is super educational and gives you stories you can share with others. Full of emotion and I think many people should do this to better understand the history of slavery in New York.
