This tour was so much fun. For all the times I have visited NYC, I learned so much about the city history and the buildings in addition to all the fun facts about the movies made in this city. Our guide, Jason, was terrific. He knew not only about the movies but had great trivia Q’s that really kept my interest.

Being a TCM classic movie fan, this was going to be the highlight of an NYC visit. I received confirmation when the tour was booked and confirmation once again 24 hours before the tour. But, later that day, the tour was abruptly cancelled with no explanation. When I called, On Location tours said that the tour was two people short of capacity. So, for less than the cost of two tickets-under $100-the tour was cancelled! Apparently, the tour company is more committed to squeezing all $$$ from the tour than they are to the customers. I was offered a certificate for another tour but I will probably never be back to NYC. Extremely disappointing and put a damper on NYC visit.

I did the San Francisco movie tour a few years ago and absolutely loved it so looked at all the ones in New York. I was with my dad and he loves old movies so we went for the TCM Tour. The guide was very friendly and knowledgable however it felt quite a short tour for the price we paid and we only got to see a fraction of manhattan. The movie clips and locations weren’t as slick as San Francisco tour. No idea why “you’ve got mail” was included. It’s not even a great film let alone that old. If you were going to put that in there why not home alone 2? That’s a fab film and would have been good to see locations in Central Park. So many movies filmed there. Queensboro bridge a highlight as was that general area of Sutton place. There were a lot of interior clips which were probably sound stage instead of exterior eg: Bloomingdales. So sorry Jason can’t give you five stars. It was the content of tour itself that let it down rather than you as a person and guide. I still gave a tip though as wasn’t an awful trip, just could have been better.
