For ages 5 and up, this approx 3-hour tour is our 90 minute narrated overview Newport Mansions Trolley Tour PLUS a 90-minute tour ticket for admission inside the Vanderbilt Breaker's Mansion (total approx 3 hrs).

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at Bus Platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Era history and events that occurred over the centuries. Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, the Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

The duration of this tour is 160-180 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Please bring earbuds or headphones to hear the Breakers audio tour through your phone
Please do not meet directly at the Breakers mansion. You will visit the attraction during the trolley tour
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
The trolley is not handicapped accessible.. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
Management at the Breakers Mansion no longer allows curbside drop off and pickup. All passengers are discharged and picked up in the bus lot at the mansion. Visitors will have a walking requirement about 700 feet from the drop off point to the front door of the mansion.
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

Saw a whole lot and had a very entertaining guide! The Breakers museum and the history of the city were incredibly interesting and told to us in an entertaining manner

Wonderful tour offered by a funny and knowledgeable tour guide. I highly recommend this Tour Operator when you are visiting Newport. I particularly liked our Tour Guide's restaurant and shopping recommendations. He was funny from start to end. I do have a few recommendations to make, it was very difficult, if you are not from the area, to know where the trolly departs from as they simply give you an address. The should simply say that it departs from the Bus Terminal and then give the address. They should also give the bus stall it departs from, I believe we were leaving from stall B, which would be helpful and several of us were wandering around trying to find the place. It would also be equally helpful if the Tour Operator would put a sign at the bus stall to identify their company as there are other Tour Operators offering the same tour and departing form the same place . I would also ask that theTour Guides wait alittle before they explain an attraction as for those sitting behind the bus can not see it when they describe it and by the time you see it it is too late and the Tour Guide is explaining something else. Lastly, it would be nice is the trolley windows open so you can have a great view. The little windows are very limiting and a nuissance.

Thank you for visiting Newport. All of our online verbiage listed before and after the purchase clearly states "Tours depart from the Newport Transit Center, 23 America's Cup Ave, Newport. Look for the white trolley at bus platform #2." You must have missed it for some reason. The RIPUC prohibits displaying any signage on trolleys classified as public motor vehicles. Only jitney (state transit) vehicles can have signage and advertising. If you saw any signage on any other trolley in the city (other than state transit) it's because they are not in compliance with the laws of RI. Regardless of who owns them, all trolleys in the Newport area have the same size industry standard windows. We're glad you enjoyed our tour guide.
